Steve (Froggy) > This picture was captured by a friend Richard Sidey http://www.richardsidey.com who was panning as the bear went by. I was in the process of capturing the image of a grey jay and ended up smack in the middle of his shot. This shows how close some of these encounter are, I think that I was more startled than scared. This was a sub adult bear maybe two or three years old.

He was followed up by a 2nd bear who stopped 4ft right and front of me. This bear decided that he needed to poo poo and did so while starring straight at me. I'm thinking that maybe he was emptying his system to make room for me.....lol
Steve (Froggy) > Don't even think about it!
Steve (Froggy) > What a face! He knows how handsome he is!
Steve (Froggy) > There was a meadow behind the platform I called "Bear Super Highway." The bears would go through this meadow on their way to and from the Books Falls. All that seperated us was a short ramp and a latched gate!
Steve (Froggy) > Young bears in love! These animals are both affectionate and fierce!
Steve (Froggy) > He'll get that salmon that got away, whatever it takes!
Steve (Froggy) > Bear been here
Steve (Froggy) > More bear paths on the way to the falls
Steve (Froggy) > Bear tracks, on the falls trail
